Same-Day Cannabis Delivery

Cannabis Delivery To Kips Bay

The Alchemy runs licensed adult-use cannabis delivery to Kips Bay from our Flatiron location at 12 West 18th Street, dispatching through the residential corridor anchored by three major medical institutions. Coverage runs 27th Street to 34th Street, 2nd Avenue east to the FDR Drive. The standard window from order acceptance to door is 20 to 35 minutes, our fastest delivery zone in Manhattan because of the short transit from Flatiron. Service operates under New York State OCM Part 124 with photo ID verification at the door, no leave-at-door, and OCM Part 113 opaque child-resistant packaging. Order cutoffs are 9pm Sunday through Wednesday and Saturday, 11pm Thursday and Friday.

Where The Kips Bay Zone Begins And Ends

The Kips Bay delivery footprint runs 27th Street north to 34th Street, 2nd Avenue east to the East River and the FDR Drive. That perimeter captures the residential corridor along 2nd, 1st, and the cross-streets running east to the river. NYU Langone sits at 1st Avenue and 33rd, Bellevue Hospital at 1st Avenue and 27th, and the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System at 1st Avenue and 23rd Street (just south of our zone, with patient and family resident overflow into Kips Bay). Waterside Plaza, the residential complex on the FDR Drive at 25th Street, sits inside the zone. The Kips Bay Plaza apartment complex on 2nd Avenue between 30th and 33rd is inside the zone. Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village sit south of 23rd and route through Gramercy dispatch.

A driver leaving 12 West 18th Street at 7pm on a Tuesday reaches East 30th and 2nd Avenue in 9 to 13 minutes against typical northbound traffic on Park Avenue South and the eastbound cross-street routing. The Flatiron-to-Kips-Bay run is the shortest of any zone we cover; the bottleneck is not transit time but the prep and manifest sign-off cycle on our retail floor. The 20 to 35 minute window accounts for both the fast transit and the standard prep cycle.

02

What The 20 To 35 Minute Window Actually Means

The clock starts when our dispatch desk accepts your order, not when you tap submit. Most orders accept within two to four minutes during open hours. The window covers prep (budtender pull, manager manifest sign-off, driver assignment) plus route time. Kips Bay is the only Manhattan delivery zone where the published window can start at 20 minutes; the transit from Flatiron is short enough that prep time becomes the dominant variable in the equation.

Addresses on 2nd Avenue between 27th and 34th run at the fast end of the window. Addresses on 1st Avenue or east of 1st near the FDR add three to five minutes because of the cross-street routing detour. Waterside Plaza addresses sit at the upper end because the access road to the complex from the FDR adds a routing step that no other Kips Bay block has.

03

Minimum Order And Payment Methods

The minimum delivery order is $40 before tax. Payment runs on debit cards, cash, and cashless ATM-routed transactions. Federal law blocks licensed cannabis retailers from accepting Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover credit cards because cannabis remains Schedule I under the Controlled Substances Act. The cashless ATM workflow rounds the transaction to the nearest dollar at the door, with the rounded difference added to your order or held as store credit. Drivers carry an ATM-enabled card terminal. They do not carry cash floats; cash orders complete via signature-pad workflow with exact bill amounts at the door.

04

Which Store Is Dispatching Your Order

Kips Bay addresses dispatch from the Flatiron store at 12 West 18th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue. Flatiron is the closer of our two locations for every Kips Bay address. The Chelsea flagship at 302 8th Avenue handles backup dispatch only when Flatiron inventory is short on a specific SKU; if a Chelsea pickup is required, the dispatcher notifies you at order acceptance and the window extends to 35 to 50 minutes. Most Kips Bay orders complete entirely from Flatiron stock and inside the published 20 to 35 minute window.

05

ID Verification At Your Door

New York State law requires a government-issued photo ID showing 21 or older at the moment of handoff. Driver's license, state ID, passport, military ID, and NY IDNYC card all work. Out-of-state IDs are accepted; international passports are accepted. Photocopies and digital screenshots of an ID are not accepted. The name on the ID must match the order name; the signature on the delivery sheet must match. No exception for a hospital-housing address, a caregiver acting on behalf of a hospitalized family member, or a recipient in scrubs whose ID is in a locker at the hospital. The protocol does not bend for context. The cardholder must be present at handoff with a valid physical ID.

No leave-at-door for cannabis. OCM Part 124 prohibits unattended delivery of adult-use cannabis under any condition. If you are not at the address at the time of arrival, the driver waits five minutes, attempts phone contact, and returns the product to the store. Same-store re-attempt is possible the same evening if cutoff has not passed; otherwise the order rolls to a refund or a next-day reschedule.

06

How The Delivery Handoff Works In Hospital-Adjacent Areas

Kips Bay building stock divides into three formats. Mid-rise residential buildings along 2nd and 1st Avenues, most with full-time or shift-coverage doormen. The Waterside Plaza and Kips Bay Plaza complexes, which have private security and concierge layers. Townhouses on the cross-streets, particularly east of 1st Avenue. Walk-up tenements exist but are less common here than in East Village or LES.

For a doorman or concierge building, the handoff completes in the lobby. The doorman or concierge calls up to announce the driver; the resident comes down to lobby level for the ID-verified handoff. Neither the doorman nor the concierge can accept the package on the resident's behalf because the cardholder's signature and ID match are required by Part 124. For NYU Langone Family Place and similar patient-housing addresses, the standard housing reception coordinates the resident come-down; the driver does not enter housing common areas beyond the lobby. For a townhouse with a private entrance, the resident answers the door.

07

Hospital-Area Discretion Protocol

Drivers carrying deliveries to NYU Langone Family Place, the cluster of patient-stay hotels around 1st Avenue in the 30s, and the Ronald McDonald House patient-family housing follow heightened discretion protocol on the public-space portion of the route. No loitering at hospital entrances or staff entrances. No package visibility during the walk from vehicle to building. No marked vehicles. The handoff inside the resident's building runs the standard Part 124 protocol; the heightened discretion applies to the public-space portion only. The reason for the heightened discretion is privacy for patients and patient families, not a regulatory requirement.

08

Hotel, Airbnb, And Multi-Unit Address Rules

Patient-stay hotels and patient-family housing addresses are common in Kips Bay because of the medical-center density. Delivery to these addresses is permitted with the same two conditions that apply across our delivery map. The recipient must be 21 with a matching government-issued photo ID. The recipient must accept the package in person. Concierges and patient-housing staff cannot accept on a guest's behalf because cardholder signature and ID match are required at handoff. Airbnb addresses follow the same protocol.

NYU dormitories and student-residence addresses are refused at order placement. Hospital staff residences are case-by-case with manager approval if the address is a private residential unit rather than an institutional dormitory.

09

What Kips Bay Customers Tend To Order

The Kips Bay customer profile is patient-and-caregiver heavy in a way few other Manhattan delivery zones are. The product pull reflects this. CBD-dominant tinctures (typically 15 milligrams or 30 milligrams per milliliter), CBN sleep formulations (3 to 5 milligrams CBN paired with 2 to 5 milligrams THC for the sleep-supportive cannabinoid combination), low-dose 2.5 milligram and 5 milligram edibles, and 1:1 CBD-to-THC ratio gummies and chocolates lead the order pattern. 2:1 CBD-dominant balanced products move steadily.

Patients managing post-treatment recovery from oncology at NYU Langone, cardiac care at Bellevue, or the broader medical-cluster services order wellness-routed products at higher rates than other zones. Caregivers (family members staying nearby during a patient's treatment, often in the medical-housing units at NYU Langone Family Place or the Ronald McDonald House) order both wellness products for the patient and stress-management products for themselves. The dual-order pattern is distinctive to Kips Bay.

VA NY Harbor patients (just south of our zone with overflow demand) ask about cannabis products for combat-related PTSD, chronic pain from service-connected injury, and sleep disruption. NY State does not exclude these uses from adult-use access under MRTA; patients can purchase any licensed product. Our budtenders route to wellness-leaning options when patients ask. We are not medical professionals and we do not make medical claims; we route to products that align with the use case described and we recommend a conversation with the patient's prescribing physician before adding cannabis to a treatment routine that includes blood thinners, certain antidepressants and antipsychotics, immunosuppressants, or seizure medications.

10

Anti-Gray-Market Framing: Why Licensed Delivery Matters

Patients and caregivers searching for cannabis support are particularly vulnerable to gray-market operators promising "medical-grade" product without any third-party testing to back the claim. Unlicensed cannabis sold to a patient managing a post-treatment recovery has no Certificate of Analysis, no pesticide screen, no heavy-metal screen, and no recourse if the product is contaminated. For an immune-compromised oncology patient, the consequences of consuming microbial-contaminated cannabis are not theoretical.

Every product we deliver carries a COA accessible via QR code on the package, with pass marks across the four NYS-mandated safety panels (pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, microbials) and the cannabinoid profile printed on the label. The Alchemy holds an OCM-issued adult-use retail license tied to our Chelsea and Flatiron addresses. The OCM dispensary verification page lists every licensed adult-use retailer in the state; verify before you order from any operator advertising delivery to a patient or caregiver address.
