Responsible Adult Use

Use cannabis with the same care you use anything else worth using.

The Alchemy treats responsible use as the table stakes of the ritual. Here is what that looks like in practice.

  1. Start low, go slow. 2.5–5mg for edibles. Wait 90 minutes before redosing. Cannabis tolerance is variable and unforgiving when overshot.
  2. Don't drive impaired. New York DWI law treats cannabis identically to alcohol. Plan transport before you consume.
  3. Don't mix with alcohol. Especially for new users. Both depress motor and judgment; the combination amplifies both.
  4. Store safely. Out of reach of children and pets. UV-protected, airtight, away from heat. Treat it like any prescription.
  5. Know your reaction. If a strain or dose produces anxiety, racing thought, or paranoia, stop. Switch to a higher-CBD or 1:1 ratio next time, or take a break.
  6. Don't consume while pregnant or breastfeeding. Active research is ongoing; the conservative position is to abstain.
  7. Recognize when use is becoming a problem. If consumption is daily, increasing, or interfering with sleep/work/relationships, talk to a doctor. The New York HOPE Line is 1-800-222-1222, free, confidential, 24/7.

The point is to elevate, not to escape.
